Common questions
Does requesting the guide mean I have to sell?
No. Many of the people I work with decide to keep the home, and that is a perfectly good answer. The guide covers both paths.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. There is no cost and no obligation. A Comparative Market Analysis is an opinion of value based on recent sales, not a formal appraisal, but it is a sound starting point for decisions.
Will my spouse find out I asked?
I offer the same information to both owners, or to your attorneys, at the same time. I will always tell you how I handle that before I send anything, and I do not share what one spouse tells me with the other.
Do you give legal or tax advice?
No. I give real estate information and numbers. Your attorney and a qualified tax professional should advise you on the legal and tax questions, and the guide tells you which questions to ask.
Can my attorney or mediator get a copy?
Absolutely, and please feel free to share it. I am glad to provide printed or electronic copies for their clients as well.
