Frontenac Missouri is a small, affluent community in the midst of the popular "central corridor" area of St. Louis. There is a lot of history in the origin of the namesake of the city, being named after Louis de Buade, the Count of Frontenac who was Governor of New France from 1672 to 1682 and established many forts in the Great Lakes area of the U.S. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Wood, who owned much of what makes up the central part of Frontenac today, during their travels became intrigued with the history of Louis de Buade and one of his forts, Chateau Frontenac, choosing the name "Frontenac" for their land.
Frontenac has about 3,500 residents with approximately 1,300 household units, a median home value of $611,00 and a median household income of $134,375.
