Wildwood is one the most recently established city in St Louis County having been incorporated on September 1, 1995 after a vote of the residents of this previously unincorporated area of West St. Louis County.
Wildwood is an affluent suburb of St Louis with a median household income of approximately $120,000, almost 13,000 housing units of which over 85% were built in 1980 or after. Approximately 40% of the homes located in Wildwood are worth between $300,000 and $500,000.
Wildwood is also home to numerous parks and reserves, including Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park, Rockwoods Reservation, Greensfelder County Park and Rockwoods Range.
